The best place to learn anything is to... "Learn From The Giants"
Picture
Featuring... "The lessons they didn't teach you in school."
What if... every action you take automatically took you one step closer to your largest, your ultimate, most bodacious goal in life. It's possible to be automatically successful and that's what we're going to talk about today.
Every action you take can be defined as one of your behaviors. Something you do without conscious thought is defined as one of your habits. The big-time, heavy-duty, personal development gurus often say the process to become successful is hard work. True, it can be but, there's a better way.
Years ago, the Prudential Insurance Company held a national sales meeting in New York City. The Nationwide Sales Manager gave a speech in which he said, "Successful people do the things unsuccessful people are unwilling to do."  Afterwards, he opened the floor for questions. A young salesman said, "Sir, how do you get to a point where you like doing what you don't like to do?" The manager said, "You don't. The things that you don't like doing, turn them into habits and you'll do those things automatically, without consciously even thinking about it."
People who drive a lot have driven from point-A to point-B and once they arrive, they can barely remember the details of the drive. There driving skills were habits buried in their subconscious mind. You can do the same thing on your journey to success. Every time you identify a necessary activity to achieve the success you desire, turn it into a subconscious habit.
When you consciously take some form of new action it requires focused attention to complete the task. The down side of task oriented conscious thinking is the little voice in your head evaluates whether or not you feel like doing what you're doing or would you rather be doing something less demanding. After you have consciously repeatedly a new activity for 30-to-40 times, it becomes a subconscious habit where your mind no longer evaluates your feelings. Your subconscious mind just follows the blueprint imprinted deep in your mind that automatically completes the task. Once you have turned a required activity into a automatic habit you'll succeed freeing your mind up for other things that are important to you.
Habits have three parts. (1) The trigger. (2) The activity. (3) The reward.
The trigger is anything that causes you to do what you do. The activity is the action. The reward is your payoff for doing the activity. All habits, good and bad, are made up of these three parts. When you're trying to upgrade a habit, anchor the trigger to something you're already doing. It's the easiest way to upgrade your behaviors.
As you identify activities that will lead you to a better future, start off small, baby step activities if you will. As you successfully add to your new baby step activities it will increase your confidence that you can ultimately master any new habit that will take you to where ever you want to go in life.
