Step-1 Identify some aspect of your life you want to be better.
Step-2 Determine what desired end result or goal you'd prefer to be the case in that aspect of your life.
Step-3 Commit to achieving that desired end result by describing your goal, in minute detail. on paper.
Be sure to include a realistic amount of time to accomplish your goal.
Step-4 Next, figure out the best new behavior that will cause that type desired end result. This is the
'bridge building phase', the design of an activity-bridge that will take you from where you are
today to where you want to be in the future.

Side Notes...

One of my personal development pet peeves is any kind of advice that only tells you WHAT to do but, not... HOW to do it. Where better habits are concerned, see if this makes sense to you...

Up in today's graphics, in the top right hand corner, is says, "People do not decide their futures." They decide their habits, and their habits decide their futures." Based on yesterday's newsletter, where Darren Hardy talked about the relationship and importance of having carefully chosen 'routines' to build your successes in life, I came to realize developing any new HABIT is actually a three step process.

Any habit you have ever developed is based on some kind of 'regular routine' or 'regular activity' that you did over and over again, always in the same way. After an extended period of time, this ongoing routine or activity is accepted by your subconscious mind as your 'automatic behavior response' to accomplishing a goal, an objective, or desired end result.

If... what you've been doing isn't getting you to where you want to go in life, may I suggest... to become habitually successful at anything... follow this three step process...

Step-1 is to predetermine your desired end result, or goal.
Step-2 Commit to your goal by writing it goal.
Step-3 is to figure out the best new behavior that will cause that type desired end result.
Step-4 is is the 'bridge building phase.' This is the bridge that will take you from where you are today to where you want to be in the future.

To build the bridge that leads to the success you desire... consciously and consistently do this 'best new behavior' approach until it never crosses your mind that you would ever do the action or activity any other way.

When you get to that point, you will have mastered being habitually successful at whatever 'desired end result' you were trying to achieve.

There is a warning! As you go from having an 'previously trained mind' to a 're-trained mind', you will experience times when you don't feel like doing what you have to do to achieve your desired end result. For this process to work, you have to temporarily ignore your feelings... and do it anyway. As this new habit takes root, expands and fully develops... the 'feelings' that conflict with your 'bridge building activities' will fade away and be less and less of a distraction for you.

I welcome your feedback on our 'Voicemail Hotline'.
