While driving this morning, the radio played while I looked for something motivational to listen to. The subject discussed on the radio was about an event in my hometown this Friday where a man will be at a celebrated fountain in the town square with a bucket of pennies for tossing in the fountain and making free wishes.
I smiled until they started going into "wishing etiquette." You have to toss the penny "heads up" because that's the good luck side. You also can't tell anyone your wish or it won't come true. There were more but these 2 got my attention.
People started calling in, asking questions about how to increase their chances of making their "free-secret-penny wishes-tossed-in-the-fountain" come true.
Many callers said they were going to take off of work so they could make free penny wishes!
Really?!!!
Think I'll show up on Friday, grab a free penny, make my wish loud enough for the entire town square to hear it, then toss my penny "tails up" into the fountain!
There are laws of success that govern our universe and tossing a free penny into a fountain to get what you want out of life isn't one of them. Fun? Yes. Serious enough for people to call in to this radio station, asking for help? NO!
Decide what you want, decide what you have to do to get it and go to work. No pipe dreams. No penny magic. Just a simple process that puts the laws of success to work for you.
By the way, I'm writing this as our state lottery hits the $500 million dollar mark so I wonder how many "free penny wishes" will be made to win the lottery when many won't even buy a ticket!
